President Talabani discuss with Kuwaiti Prime Minister preparations for the Arab summit in Baghdad
Continuation of the meetings conducted by the heads of delegations of countries of the world on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the United Nations, met with President Jalal Talabani on Tuesday afternoon in New York, the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and his accompanying delegation composed of Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Sabah, Ambassador State of Kuwait in Washington Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Sabah and the representative of Kuwait to the United Nations Mansour Al-Otaibi.
They discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and Kuwait and ways of strengthening and cementing to ensure that common interests and promoted both nations. The two sides stressed the need to work together to resolve outstanding issues in ways that a civilized and through fraternal dialogue and constructive relations frameworks so as to enhance friendship between the two brotherly countries. Both sides also exchanged views on the ongoing preparations for the convening of the next Arab Summit which is scheduled to be held in Baghdad. President Talabani and shed light on the general situation in the country, and the developments achieved in all fields, as well as on the course of the talks between the political blocs to form the next government.
The meeting was attended on the Iraqi side and Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, the chief adviser to the President Fakhri Karim, a member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Necmettin cream and Iraq's ambassador to the United Nations, Hamid al-Bayati, and the representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Washington inhibited.
