Talabani and Melkert discuss developments in the political situation in Iraq

BAGHDAD (Iba) .. President Jalal Talabani on Thursday with the Personal Representative of the UN Secretary-General Ad Melkert developments in the political and government building in Iraq and national efforts to address aspects of security, political and humanitarian.

A statement from the presidency, Talabani gave a detailed explanation about the reality of the developments and understandings that will push forward the political process, in addition to the development of Iraq's relations with neighboring countries.

For his part, Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations that it is important to help the Iraqi Christians to stay in their own country in conditions of stable security.

Melkert and expressed readiness of the United Nations to provide all necessary support to Iraq to help in the aspects that need the support of the international organization. (End) / g / ..
