BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq – Iraq’s Council of Ministers has passed the draft-law on the political parties in the country and presenting it over to the Parliament for final approval, the State Minister & Official Spokesman of the government Ali al-Dabbagh said on Wednesday.

“The Council of Ministers has decided in its 13th session on Tuesday to pass the draft-law for political parties and pass it over to the Parliament for final approval, according to Articles 61 and 80 of the Constitution,” Dabbagh said in a statement, copy of which was received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

The statement gave no further details.

Maybe once they get done with all this BS legislation they'll start to solve some problems for the Iraqi people. Just sayin...

They should be focused on electricity, gas, education and other human services. (But political parties are important too, right?)

I think there were a package of laws that were being pushed, and the HCL & the FIL were part of those laws. From the articles that we have posted I think they've discussed these & for whatever reason they're holding back releasing any more info on them.

Kar,
Wasn't there an article on Sunday or Monday that said Ban Ki Moon was in Iraq and having a meeting also with the Emir of Kuwait? I was trying to find it, but so far have not.
Thanks!

I was gone for most of the weekend, and so I sure don't remember seeing anything about ki Moon meeting with the Amir of Kuwait... Maybe someone else can help us out here... Smile
